Fluid Dynamics and Handling SoftwareNavigation: Engineering:   1 2 3 4 5 Software for Manipulating or Displaying NetCDF Data This document provides references to software packages that may be used for manipulating or displaying netCDF data. We include information about both freely-available and licensed (commercial) software that can be used with netCDF data. We rely on developers to help keep this list up-to-date. http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/software.html ANDX and ANAX The ARM Program has developed ANDX (ARM NetCDF Data eXtract), a command-line utility designed for routine examination and extraction of data from netcdf files. Data can be displayed graphically (line-plot, scatter-plot, overlay, color-intensity, etc.) or extracted as ASCII data. Whether displayed graphically or extracted as ASCII, results can be saved to disk or viewed on screen. ANAX (ARM NetCDF ASCII eXtract) is a scaled-down version of ANDX -- it is designed to only extract ASCII data. All features of ANDX pertaining to non-graphic data extraction are included in ANAX. http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/software.html CDAT The Climate Data Analysis Tool (CDAT), developed by the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, provides the capabilities needed to analyze model data, perform complex mathematical calculations, and graphically display the results. It provides the necessary tools to diagnose, validate, and intercompare large observational and global climate model data sets. http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/software.html cdfsync CDFsync is a program that allows users to rapidly synchronize a set of netCDF files over a network. Fast synchronization times are achieved by only transmitting the differences between files. It is built on the Open Source rsync program, but contains a number of optimizations including: Special handling of netCDF files for faster synchronization calculations Much faster updates of large numbers of small netCDF files In-place updates of large netCDF files http://www.epic.noaa.gov/epic/software/cdfsync/ EPIC system EPIC system consists a complete suite of routines for graphical display and data analysis, as well as for database management. These programs are written in C, or Fortran using EPIC system I/O library (EPSLIB), C-shell script or PPLUS (graphic package) scripts. They are supported on many platforms including Unix, VAX/VMS, NT, and Linux, etc. Many other EPIC tools, ulities and applications are also available such as Web Utilities, MexEPS for MATLAB, X-motif based interface for Unix. http://www.epic.noaa.gov/epic/download/index.html Gri Gri is a language for scientific graphics programming. The word "language" is important: Gri is command-driven, not point/click. Gri can make x-y graphs, contour graphs, and image graphs, in PostScript and (someday) SVG formats. Control is provided over all aspects of drawing, e.g. line widths, colors, and fonts. A TeX-like syntax provides common mathematical symbols. http://gri.sourceforge.net/ HullDrag/32 HullDrag/32, a free sailing yacht hull resistance calculator program HullDrag/32 is a sailing yacht hull drag calculation utility that estimates the drag of a sailing yacht's hull, keel and rudder. In addtion, it offers optimisation of Cp and LCB for speeds up to Fn=0.45. A new release of this yacht design software is in the works which will offer optimisation for speeds up to Fn=0.60. The new release also optimises the value of LCF. http://www.zwakenberg.de/hulldrag/downloads/downloads.html Piping Systems FluidFlow - Design and Simulation Software Understanding the interactive relationship between pipelines and the many types of fluid equipment used in a hydraulic network system, is vital to an organisation's production success.Engineering professionals, associated with these systems, need a software package that enables design integrity with ease-of-use. The class leading visual design environment, of Piping Systems FluidFlow, has enabled thousands of engineers to effectively design flow systems. http://www.fluidflowinfo.com/FluidFlow/FluidFlow.asp PSW: Personal Simulation Works Powerful and affordable desktop design software for airplanes, boats and surface vehicles.PSW is a streamline-body design and analysis package for the PC. It includes programs for surface definition, CFD flow analysis, and visualization. Its three principal elements are Loftsman/P, Cmarc, and Postmarc. An optional fourth component, Digital Wind Tunnel, performs stability and control analysis for aircraft. http://www.aerologic.com/ PIPESIZE PIPESIZE is an Excel 97 spreadsheet template. It calculates pressure drop for gases and liquids flowing through pipes. Fast, accurate, and feature rich. http://www.chemengsoftware.com/pipesize/pszover.htm Navigation: Engineering:   1 2 3 4 5 Cad Viewing Markup and Utilities | Computer Aided Design | Electrical Engineering | Finite Element Analysis (FEA) | Fluid Dynamics and Handling | Mechanical Engineering | Optics and Illumination | Product Lifecycle Management | Quality Assurance and ISO | Simulators and Modeling | Tool Calibration and Control |
